Counselor's Week

Counselor's Week was Feb. 5-11 at school. To show are counselors we appreciate them, we gave them a luncheon. We go everyone to sign a card to each of them. I made them a sugar cookie flower bouquet.

I made the same card for both of our counselors. I thought they turned out pretty good.

Both the flower bouquets looked the same. I made a bee and a couple more cookies to go with these. But that pan was over cooked. I forgot to set the time.

February's Club

This projects are what we made at February's club. After this I think I'll be up to date. I

I call this Pink Milk. This is made using the mini milk carton die cut. It can be decorated so many ways. We just made it simple. If you look real close behind the scallop flower you can see a stamped image. It's from Fresh Vintage. The flower is, also, from that set.
The clip holding is closed is a mini library clip.

I was inspired by a card I saw in a magazine. Their card was for Valentine's. They had scrapbooking paper on their's.I love cupcakes. So I decided to make my card with cupcakes. I added the rhinestone to mine.
I love this color combination. It's bashful, chocolate chip, and very vanilla. We used the build a cupcake punch and Create A Cupcake stamp set.

This is our Easter card. We used the 2011-2013 In Colors along with daffadil delight for this card. I saw this card in the IB&C. I just tweaked it a little.

January's Club

The 3D project we made January's club meeting was to help keep track of our Stampin' colors and punches. There is a page for each color family and pages that contain the punches.

This is the front. We used Cheerful Treat DSP. This DSP is one of the products you can spend your "Hostess" money to "purchase." We glued it to chipboard using Stampin' Up Anywhere Glue Stick. The flowers are from For All You Do stamp set.

This is how the inside looks. We punched one flower out of each color and glued it to the corresponding page.
I hope this helps the ladies keep track of the products they have on hand.

This card was made using the baby wipe technique. The stamp set is from Sale-A-Bration.

This card is the spirelli technique. I found it on Split Coast Stampers. It's easy to do. We punched out a whisper white scallop circled and wrap embroidery floss around it. Depending on the direction to wrap will depend on the look. You can tell by looking at the card one flower has a bigger center than the other. We, also, embossed the flower stem using wild wasabi embossing powder. You can see shine on one of the stems.

You have heard "Christmas in July?"

Well, today it's Christmas in February. Today I'l going to show you the projects we made in November. We made projects for Christmas because we didn't have a December Club meeting.

On this card, run you two pieces of CS through the Big Shot (seperatly) using the Top Note die cut. On the white piece, tear off the extra part to show the garden green CS that is behind it. We colored the stamped image with writer markers and blender pens.

This card is pieced together like a quilt. Once all the "quilt" pieces are glued down on a piece of copy paper, trim off the excess and run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder. They stamped their initial in the center.

This triangle treat holder is so simple to make. It's made from an oblong piece of CS. All you do is score and fold. It can be decorated in so many ways for so many occasions.

That's it for November's Club.

I did have a Stampin' Night in December. It was opened to everyone, not just club members. You could make one or both items. One was box fullof gift tags. The other was Christmas Stocking. Depending on what you made depended on the cost.

This wa the gift tage box. The only hard part of this project was the box. The rest was simple, stamp and punch. Sorry the photo is a little blurry. The stamp set is Tags til Christmas on page 32 in the IB&C. They picked the ink colors they wanted to use.

This is the box with lid.

This is the finished box.

If you chose the stocking, you received a package of DSP. You could make as many stocking as you package would allow.

The next couple of photos are of the Christmas cards I sent my our family and friends.

On the top card, I embossed the center of the poinsettia.

The rhinestone on the bell makes mine a little different from the one that we made in club.

The projects you are about to see are Christmas gifts I made.

This is a stationary box I found on Split Coast Stampers a few years ago. I made it for the ladies I work with at school and for Shana. I made them all the same except for their inital on the box and on the cards inside. When you take the lid off, the front and sides fall down to reveal what's inside.

This is the inside of the box. It was 6 quilted cards and envelopes, 6 3x3 cards, a little note pad, matching RSVP pen,  6 gift tags, and a book stamps.

Closer look at what's inside the box.

My mom need a few small gifts to give. This project was a family joint gift. Samantha, my daughter, went and picked up the hand sanitizers, I made the boxes, and mom gave the gifts.

I made this project a couple of years ago at club. It was so easy and fast.

Here's a closer look at it.                                                            Here it is open.

This little guy was made with the Knifty Knitter. I made one for Samantha, my mom, and my mother-in-law. I put a music button in his hat. I thought he turned out cute.

This was my version of a gingerbread house. My house is a sugar cookies house. I couldn't find any gingerbread and I don't have a recipe for one. Last year after Christmas I bought a gingerbread cookie cut set. It's the first time I that I ever made one. In the past, I couldn't ever get the dough cut out right so they ended up being people instead. It's not real decorative I know. But I didn't think it turned out to bad for the my time. I made it for Samantha's brother-in-law.

These cookies I made to take to our parents' for Christmas. The top cookies is my sugar cookie. The bottom cookie is called Spiced Holiday Sugar cookie. I found the recipe in the magazine. It's a McCormick recipe. It's a great tasting cookie.

I know today's blog has been a very long one. But I hope you enjoyed seeing what I worked on for Christmas.

Ready for some more stamping projects?

Here are a few cards we made at workshops I've had.

These two cards were made at two different workshops. The top one we just sponged the blue on for the sky. The bottom card, we used bashful blue CS so the balloon looks like it is actually floating in the air. I saw on Split Coast Stampers were someone used the cupcake builder punch from Stampin' Up for the clouds. I thought it turned out cute.

I made a card similar to this one in the club that I was a member of last year. This particular card was from a set I made for a hostess. The purses were made using the cupcake builder punch. The flaps and handles were made using circle punches. I ran the tangerine tango CS through the Big Shot using the perfect polka dot embossing folder.

I found this set on Split Coast Stampers. I can't remember which person posted it. If I find it, I'll let you know. The owl on the pillow box was made using different punches. I thought it made a cute set. You can put a small gift or money in the box and give a matching card. It's a clever idea.

We call this little feller Army Chick. We are puting together the owl pillow box (shown above) when a guest, Erica, arranged her punched pieces out like this. We thought she did a good job. Erica doesn't think she's very creative. But she came up this all by herself.

This card is made using the baby wipe techinque. You drop a few drops from 2-3 reinkers onto a baby wipe. You use the wipe as your ink pad. This techinque was used on the heart in the center of the card.

The next few projects were not made during a workshop.

These bookmarks we made in children's church for Mother's Day last year. The kids did a pretty good job. I made these to show them what they would look like.

This card I made for my dad & father-in-law for Father's Day last year. I used rubbing alcohol  to make the background. Put the rubbing alcohol on cotton balls, drop a few drops of ink from two reinkers, and dab your piece of glossy CS. This technique only works on glossy paper.

Both the baby wipe and alcohol techniques I learned for Dawn Derrick. Dawn is a great lady. I have know her for about 11years. She is the one that finaly talked me into joining Stampin' Up. Make sure you visit her blog. Just click on her name.

This cute card was an invitation to a birthday party I went to in July. It was made using punches. My friend Shana made it for her daughter's, Kate, 6th birthday party. Shana and I have worked together for almost 10 years. But it has been about the last four years that we have become close friends. We are co-advisors on our school yearbook. We are chaparons for the Eighth Grade Good Behavior Trip. There are other chaparons, but we are the ones who order the tickets, buses, and get everything done and in place for the trip.

Come back tomorrow. There's not telling what you may see.

Something Other Than Cards

One of the things I like to do other than stamp is bake. I bake cakes, cookies, and cupcakes.  I thought I would share some of the  things I have baked. Remember I'm not a professional decorator. I see an idea in my head but sometimes I just can't seem to get it on the cake.

I made the cake and cupcakes to take to my mom's last Easter.  I used piping gel to make the stain glass cross. The grass on the cupcakes was made by using a grass decorating tip. The jellybeans are the Easter eggs.

The pool cake was for our daughter's 22nd birthday party. We rented an inflatable water slide. Family and friends came over to enjoy the water slide, hot dogs, hambergers, and the pool cake.  Yes, we had ice cream as well. Everyone had a blast including our dog Luke.

We had some much fun at her 22nd birthday party, we did it again for her 23rd birthday party. This time she wanted an Ewok cake. He was three different flavors. His ears and arms were make using Rice Krispy treats. I used modeling chocolate for his facial features, wrap, and toes. His stick was wrapped with modeling chocolate, also.

There's no telling what kind of cake she will want this year. But will have to wait to see. Her birthday isn't until July.

I'll share other baked goods with you later.

October Club

October's club was about fall. Two of our projects were for fall.

This was a treat using cellophane bags that Stampin' Up offered during the Holiday Mini Catalog. I thought they make cute Halloween treats.

This card is using a faux silk technique. You stamp on light colored card stock. We used white. Next apply stick glue (anywhere glue stick from Stampin' Up) all over the card, crinkle up white tissue paper, then without ironing out the wrinkles place it over the stamped card.

This is a tri-fold card. We used daffofil delight ribbon to help keep it closed.

This is what it looks like open. You have plenty of space to write friends and family a nice fall greeting.
